Indian Trail Improvement District
Indian Trail Improvement District (ITID) wanted to make it's telemetry data available to the public on a website. ITID use the Trihedral VTScada system. This system offers flexibility in reporting options that was leveraged to simplify and automate the process of putting the telemetry data on the web. The District's telemetry data is updated every 12 hours, or twice daily. The time of this reporting can be controlled using the automatic reporting functionality within the VTS system. NewWaveGeo created an HTML website using Javascript, jQuery and Google Maps API to display the data. The public can now view the twice daily data, and also a 7-day history for each site in the District's telemetry system. Or, using a map, the public can click on a telemetry site to view the current ready and 7-day history.
North Palm Beach Improvement District
NewWaveGeo created a customized ArcPad application which provides field users the required tools to easily collect sign locations and attribute information. Location information is captured using the GPS coordinates and the attribute information utilizes drop-down lists where possible.
Calvin Giorano & Associates for the City of Greenacres
Assisting CGA to provide an integrated solution for GIS and document management, NewWaveGeo created an ArcGIS for Silverlight application which integrated with the City's document management system, LaserFische. Using Visual Studio and web services, the GIS-focused application allowed users to click on the map to retrieve the attribute information for parcels. Along with the attribute information, a window was provided showing the document which were linked to that GIS feature. Clicking on one of the document would display it to the user, allowing for a seamless interaction between the GIS and document management system.
POWER Engineers, Inc. for Ann Arbor, MI & Vista, CA
Using ASP.NET, Google Maps and Azteca's Cityworks API, NewWaveGeo created public citizen service request web sites for Ann Arbor and Vista. An address validation web service was created to ensure the validity of the data. A customizable service request web site included contact information, a drop down list for the service request type and an automatic email notification. Additionally, a weekly batch email process was created for SQL Server to notify the contacts based on the status of the request within Cityworks.
Dewberry for Baltimore County
Dewberry enlisted NewWaveGeo to assist in the creation of QA/QC tools to support the Baltimore County Storm Drains Project. The QA/QC process consisted of a visual QC, feature attribution and geometry checks, PLTS tool quality validation checks, and validation reporting. Basic validation ensured required fields were populated, that fields using a domain were populated correctly and that features connected to each other were populated with consistent and matching attributes. Advanced QA/QC verified flow by checking the upstream and downstream invert, the calculated vs. geometric slope, pipe flow direction compared to connected pipes, report culverts intersecting roadways, and validate points and lines were connected and there were no floating points. Tabular and shapefile reports were generated allowing for manual review and updating of the errors.
Dewberry for Charlotte and Ashville, NC
The City of Charlotte and Asheville, NC embarked on a field data collection project in an effort to map storm collection features. Points, pipes and channels were captured in the field using ESRI’s ArcPad. Points were located using GPS, while the pipes and channels will be drawn in the field. In an effort to automate the data collection and capture the required data, the City requested custom tools/scripts to work with the ArcPad collection effort in the field. NewWaveGeo created a custom ArcPad application with sophisticated tools to automate the attribution of the collected data. The custom tools auto-populated attributes where possible, automatically assigned the structure ID based on the sub-work area and automatically linked the upstream and downstream features. NewWaveGeo provided a knowledge transfer session for Dewberry staff to manage to code, perform the installations and support the custom software.
Spatial Technologies for US Air Force
NewWaveGeo provided consulting and application development services to Spatial Technologies in support of the GIMS/CVS contract for the US Air Force. The GIMS editor is an ArcMap based editing tool which was created using ArcObjects and Visual Studio (C#) which allows for the management of the communications systems or outside cable plant (OCP) records. Additionally, NewWaveGeo was the lead on an inside cable plant (ICP) application using ArcGIS Server and ASP.NET. The ICP application integrated CSIR drawings and the OCP GIMS editor by providing a single interface and set of tools to maintain the information. The specific benefit and focus of the ICP application was to provide a quick view of the intra-building communication network, in a “control panel” type view. This view provides a quick overview of the communication infrastructure by providing access to:
• CLRC drawings in CAD and/or Visio format
• Building layout / floor plans
• Vertical display of the rack in CAD and/or Visio format
• Building footprint
